Permanent new home for CAPA College announced

Enhance Academy Trust are delighted that the DFE has secured CAPA College a permanent site in the heart of Wakefield City Centre.  This exciting Free School development will enable talented, creative young people from across the Wakefield district, and beyond, with access to the highest quality of post-16 Arts training and education leading to new opportunities, raised aspirations and improved educational and career outcomes.  Our vision is that CAPA College will add to, and further enhance, the rich cultural offer of the Arts and Educational provision in the area and will be a flagship centre of excellence.”

Enhance Academy Trust are highly delighted to announce that it has received confirmation that the Department for Education have now successfully agreed a site in the heart of Wakefield City Centre for CAPA College. It is proposed that the site on Mulberry Way, Wakefield will be developed into the permanent purpose-built home of the specialist Post-16 Performing Arts Free School –  CAPA College.

The DFE is aiming for the Mulberry Way development to be complete and ready for CAPA College students in September 2020.  In the meantime, CAPA College will welcome its first cohort of students in September 2018 in temporary accommodation at Cathedral Academy, Thornes Road, Wakefield.

About CAPA College

CAPA College is a new DFE funded Free School proposed by Enhance Academy Trust.  CAPA College will provide full time Arts training and education for students aged 16-19 and aims to inspire, train and educate the next generation of performers, creatives, designers and technicians.
