Expanding Arts opportunities for young men in the community.

CHARGE Boys launched in 2020 is an innovative FREE scheme for boys aged 11-16 from across Yorkshire and beyond. It offers first-class training to enthusiastic and talented young boys to help them develop their performance ability, build confidence and learn transferable skills in a fun, creative and enjoyable environment. With first-class dance training being provided in a variety of styles from contemporary, jazz and urban to breakdancing, the students are given the skills to excel within the Arts.

CHARGE Boys offers free weekly workshops, rehearsals and technical tuition, with young performers working with a leading, all-male, professional dance teaching team and guest choreographers as they work towards a spectacular end of year performance.

“Working with CHARGE Boys has been truly inspiring as we have witnessed huge growth in the boys in such a short amount of time. Seeing them perform in Leeds was magical and it has proven that our programme works. Through CHARGE we hope to keep inspiring these young men to become great dancers and performers, and hopefully we can offer this high level of training to even more boys across Yorkshire in the future.” – Sean Selby, Assistant Vice Principal

Through CHARGE, CAPA College is inspiring a younger generation of students to grow as performers, promoting progression into the Arts and offering students an exceptional opportunity to help them on their way to stardom.

“This has been the best experience. Coming from a non-technical dance background I was a bit worried about whether I would be good enough, but the support from the teaching staff has been amazing.” – CHARGE Boy

“CHARGE Boys has been a fabulous experience. The all-boy set up makes this a great place for my son to feel comfortable and confident to do what he loves with a group of like-minded people who sometimes experience barriers when it comes to boys’ dancing.” – Participant Parent
