Permanent new home for CAPA College

Enhance Academy Trust are highly delighted to announce that it has received confirmation that the Department for Education have now successfully agreed a site in the heart of Wakefield City Centre for CAPA College. It is proposed that the site on Mulberry Way, Wakefield will be developed into the permanent purpose-built home of the specialist Post-16 Performing Arts Free School –  CAPA College.

The DFE is aiming for the Mulberry Way development to be complete and ready for CAPA College students in September 2020.  In the meantime, CAPA College will welcome its first cohort of students in September 2018 in temporary accommodation at Cathedral Academy, Thornes Road, Wakefield.

About CAPA College

CAPA College is a new DFE funded Free School proposed by Enhance Academy Trust.  CAPA College will provide full time Arts training and education for students aged 16-19 and aims to inspire, train and educate the next generation of performers, creatives, designers and technicians. CAPA College’s team of top professional teachers, directors, choreographers, musical directors, designers and technicians alongside industry standard facilities will ensure that CAPA College delivers the highest quality training, education and pastoral guidance to support talented students who are serious about pursuing a career in the Arts.  The team behind the new CAPA College Free School have a proven track record of excellence in the Arts with consistently Outstanding Ofsted judgements, excellent post-16 exam results and student alumni progressing to the UK’s leading Arts conservatoires, universities and careers in the Arts.
