DRAMA: Stage and Screen course pathway

The Drama: Stage and Screen course pathway at CAPA College provides students with an intensive, specialist course offering thorough breadth and depth in the

exploration and development of the art form. Students will gain experience and versatility in their approach to their practice on stage and screen, developing their skill set as both a performer and creative. This approach enables students to access a range of higher education and career options in a variety of genres and contexts including theatre, film and education. Students will also gain experience in complementary art forms and work collaboratively with students on CAPA College’s other course pathways.

Drama training at CAPA College is exciting but also rigorous and requires a high level of commitment from students. Students receive extensive directed contact time through a programme of technical training, creative development, directed performance and theoretical application. This is led by CAPA College’s resident team of specialist teachers plus regular masterclasses from the UK’s leading Arts professionals and companies.

Qualifications

Students will gain the following qualifications:

Extended Diploma in Drama – equivalent to 3 A levels

A level Drama

The A-level qualifications are examined both practically and through formal written examinations. The vocational focus of the Extended Diploma means that all work and performance opportunities (including all ongoing participation in classes and rehearsals) are assessed. Students cover a range of units and, at the end of the course, will be awarded an overall grade according to the combined total of the individual units. Varied assessment methods include: studio based assessments, studio performances, lecture demonstrations, journals, public performances in CAPA College’s theatre and across the country.

After studying full-time at CAPA College Annabelle progressed straight into professional television acting.  Professional TV credits include: Casualty (BBC) and Emmerdale (ITV).
