Free dance workshops for schools

Yorkshire Dance, hosted a digital dance festival at the end of March 2021 for Children and young people called RE:FRESH. The festival was in partnership with organisations from across the Yorkshire region including CAPA College.

RE:FRESH took place between Wednesday 24^th – Saturday 27^th March 2021 and during this time, CAPA College alongside other professional organisations offered FREE dance workshops to schools!

CAPA College’s professional teaching staff hosted nine dance workshops across three days, including jazz, commercial, contemporary and lyrical sessions. The workshops were hosted to a variety of schools and age groups across the Yorkshire region via RingCentral.

“Students were fully engaged in the workshop. Our higher level students really benefitted from the in depth technique pointers that were given and were encouraged not only to learn steps but to explore performance and dynamics which made a real difference to their overall performance of the choreography. The detailed explanations and the pace of the workshop also allowed our weaker students to pick up choreography easily and they made excellent progress too.
