CAPA College at Move It 2023

On Friday 10th March CAPA College returned to the ExCeL London for Move It 2023 – and they excelled in all their performances.

In the Showcase Theatre our Dance, Drama and Performing Arts students offered a dynamic fusion of song and dance with a high energy piece featuring some of Elvis Presley’s best songs. The hard hitting vocals and choreography wowed the crowds and luckily for them they had two opportunities to see the piece with CAPA College performing it on the Friday and Saturday.  Sunday saw a beautiful portrayal or strength and unity in ‘You Say’, that celebrated love and acceptance. This dynamic and heartfelt arrangement of the Lauren Daigle hit song was led by powerful female vocalists and featured an all male lead ensemble. Congratulations to everyone involved!

First up on the Main Stage Rachel Dixion and Keith Luke GIllott showcased their exceptional choreography skills with Don’t Look Back. With music from Miguel and an intense fusion of contemporary dance and commercial styles, a visceral, emotional story of sacrifice is told. Wow! What a performance.

On Saturday, the cast of Judas choreographed by West End star Amelia-Rose Fielding took to the stage. Crowds gathered to see the infectious energy of this super-stylised technical jazz piece with iconic music by Lady Gaga. We loved it! Well done everyone.

Last, but not least, there wasn’t a dry eye in the audience when they saw our performance of ‘She’s like the wind’. The incredibly emotive performance showcased gorgeous lyrical contemporary technique enhanced by wonderful musicality and outstanding emotion, expression and characterisation. Congratulations to our performers – you were a real credit to CAPA College.

Special mention must also be made to our wonderful CAPA College alumni who came out in droves to support their alma mater. It was so lovely to see you all and we’re very proud of the fantastic performers, creatives, designers and technicians that you have become. We were also incredibly proud to see CAPA College alum, Tasha Ghouri, headline on the mainstage! What an achievement.

Didn’t make it to Move It this year? Here is a recap of what you missed!

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped to make Move It 2023 so memorable for CAPA College. We’ll see you all at Move It 2024!
