For aspiring performers aged 8 –16, CHARGE offers specialist industry training in Dance, Stage & Screen, Musical Theatre and Breakdancing.
Alongside weekly classes, students form small companies each term, working towards exciting end-of-term performance projects; from curtain-raiser performances at CAPA College shows, to national platform opportunities. CHARGE students experience real training and real performance opportunities delivered with CAPA College quality.
Guided by CAPA College’s industry professionals, training in exceptional facilities unlike anywhere else in the North of England; CHARGE is both a welcoming starting point for beginners and a place for experienced performers to develop further. CHARGE Dance celebrates all aspects of contemporary and commercial dance – from jazz, choreography and ballet, to street and breakin’. Participants take part in contrasting workshops each week, delivered by some of the country’s most dynamic performers.

Musical Theatre
This mesmerizing company brings together some of the region’s most talented young performers to blend Pitch Perfect harmonies with BAFTA-worthy acting and spectacular routines that would make even Craig Revel Horwood raise his 10 paddle.
Through weekly workshops and rehearsals, CHARGE Musical Theatre explores all aspects of the West End stage from vocal technique, acting through song and devised theatre to jazz, commercial and contemporary dance. Discover a wide range of musical theatre styles, build confidence and develop your skillset with this all-singing, all-dancing programme.

Whether you’re a passionate playwright, a budding actor, a whizz at Premiere Pro or simply love shooting TikToks on your phone, this is the place for you. With CAPA College graduates going on to star in Mamma Mia 2 alongside THE Meryl Streep, ITV dramas with Rob Lowe and almost every major musical in the West End, it is time to follow your dreams!

Breakin’ first originated in 1970’s America and has become a well respected art form in many countries across the world. The style will challenge you creatively and build on physical strength and flexibility. This will give you a unique set of skills and encourage you to think of new ways of moving. All you need to come with is an openness to try something new, be super playful and have a team mentality.
