Our City

Wakefield is a pioneering city for the Arts in the heart of West Yorkshire. Once home to Bretton Hall (that gave rise to such talents as Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Kay Mellor), the city houses several internationally-renowned galleries, studios and performance spaces, including Production Park, Theatre Royal Wakefield, Tileyard North, The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Wakefield has a vibrant Arts community with regular events taking place in and around CAPA College including Light Up Wakefield, the Rhubarb Festival and the bi-monthly Artwalk.

Our location in the centre of Wakefield ensures easy commuting for students from across the North of England. We are based directly opposite Wakefield Westgate Train Station – the main Leeds to London train line. The FREE Wakefield City Bus, which connects Wakefield Bus Station with Wakefield Kirkgate Train Station, runs every 10 minutes and stops immediately outside CAPA College too. 

Our Students travel from all over the North of England. The central location makes commuting to CAPA College easy!
