Production Students take Centre Stage behind the scenes
Our Production students form the backbone of every successful show! From costume creation and set building to lighting rigs, sound design and technical management. The Production Pathway at CAPA College offers a professional training ground for the next generation of creatives and technicians shaping theatre, live events and film environments. Students study the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts, developing a broad range of technical and creative skills over two years. They learn industry-standard techniques including rigging, lighting, sound and AV design, costume and make-up design, prosthetics, stage management, and prop construction; putting theory straight into practice on live projects and performances. This half term, Production students have once again shown exceptional talent and dedication. Among the highlights were bespoke costume designs, inventive set pieces, expertly-managed soundscapes and precise lighting designs which transformed every show they supported. These projects not only demonstrate technical skill, but also creativity and teamwork, qualities that the pathway aims to nurture as part of its industry-focused curriculum.
As the term ends, staff and peers alike are celebrating the passion and skill that these students bring to each production, proving that while the spotlight often shines on the performers, the magic truly comes together because of the work happening behind the scenes.
