ACE
CAPA College is driven by the fundamental belief that ALL young people should have access to high-quality Arts education. Our ethos is ACE – and Accessibility, Collaboration and Excellence are at the heart of all that we do

Accessibility
Our building was designed with accessibility at the forefront. As well as lifts and ramps for ease of access, we have a hearing loop for use in performance spaces and accommodate our audiences through touch tours and BSL interpreted performances.
Inclusivity is embedded in our ethos. We have gender-neutral toilets, every student is encouraged to choose their own pronouns and, wherever possible, casting is done blind.
We ensure all students have the same opportunities. We have a dedicated Student Support Team, exceptional SEND and learning support provision and offer incremental financial support for lower income families.
We also have an elected team of Student Leaders who advocate for their peers, coordinate student-led “takeovers” and tutorials and ensure the College best represents the needs of its students.
This culture of accessibility is represented in the language, curriculum, policies, teaching, training and decision making at CAPA College.
Collaboration
From within the College to the wider creative industries, collaboration a key element of what we offer at CAPA College. We are ‘Team CAPA College’. As students, teachers, parents, visitors or collaborators, it is crucial that we appreciate each other, learn from one another and pool our resources to push our creative practice, inspire innovation and ensure constant growth.
CAPA College is a springboard. Our aim is to propel our students to phenomenal professional careers in the Arts. Our focus on collaboration ensures that students get access to a broad range of teaching and learning (through masterclasses and work placements), keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry and develop important connections.
We have strong partnerships with industry leaders in order to provide invaluable opportunities for our students. These collaborations span across multiple sectors, including ITV Academy, Channel 4, Production Park and Screen Yorkshire and offer platforms for students to gain hands-on experience and kickstart their careers.
CAPA College is award winning with accolades with some of the most renowned institutions, such as National Theatre New Views (Winners 2018 and 2019), National Youth Dance Company, BBC, Sky TV and One Dance UK. We are committed to providing life-changing opportunities for our students – both regionally and nationally.
Excellence
What sets CAPA College apart is its commitment to excellence. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in January 2022, CAPA College is led by an exceptional team of award-winning leaders, specialist teachers and creatives and offers a curriculum enriched with guest masterclasses, performances and project opportunities.
“Teachers are highly experienced and use their extensive industry knowledge and links very well. The energy and passion that staff have for their subject is infectious and creates a unique and special learning environment for all students to learn and thrive in… Leaders have relentless focus on providing the best teaching, support and outcomes for their students” (Ofsted 2022).
CAPA College has earned a reputation for achieving high standards in attainment and progression. We are the highest performing 16-19 Free School in the country with 100% A*-C results and are ranked in the top 1% nationally (including the independent sector) for student progress.
With past students in just about every West End show, on cruise ships all over the world and appearing in shows on nearly every streaming platform, CAPA College graduates progress to phenomenal careers, helping to shape the future of the Creative and Performing Arts.
