The
Programme
As well as studying on their course pathway, all students engage with our tutorial curriculum.
Students explore the tutorial topics as a whole year group in collaborative sessions, as well as in small group seminars with their tutor. Sessions are delivered by a range of internal and external speakers including college senior leader, the wellbeing team, visiting artist and experts.
The curriculum covers a range of topics that are relevant to young people who are emerging into young adults during their studies at CAPA College:
- British values
- Exploring political ideology and learning how to vote
- Sexual Health
- Healthy relationships
- E-safety and cyber security
- Paying tax and being self-employed
- Climate change and sustainability
- Culture, diversity and identity

This year it felt important to address the unregulated beauty industry as this is something that our students will be facing and need to be well equipped for.” – The Wellbeing team

Delivering online training in schools, Alan focuses on educating children to use the spaces and platforms they engage in a positive way. The benefits of innovative technology can be enabled through understanding the languages, uses and motivations of online spaces.
Dr Kit Heyam, Queer Trans Writer
Kit is motivated by a commitment to making the diversity and complexity of queer people experience visible. The training aims to equip attendees with the ability to react confidently and sensitively when they encounter trans issues, avoiding shock or discomfort.
Debbie Kennedy, Trading Standards
Few people know about the worrying extent of cosmetic treatments provided to under 18s by unregulated health professionals. Debbie’s training sessions raise young people’s awareness of the issues and advise them what to look out for.
